General Terms and Conditions

When booking a rental car with Lombok Car Hire, the following terms and conditions apply:

• Driving License: A valid Driving License from your home country (place of residence) or an International Driving Permit is acceptable.
• Minimum Age: Renters must be between 18 and 70 years old.
• Minimum Rental Period: 2 days, all year round.
• Insurance: The rental rate includes full coverage insurance for the rental car, covering any damage or loss. Full coverage is subject to an own risk excess of Rp 800,000 (around USD 55) per occurrence. Without insurance, any damage or loss is the customer’s responsibility.
• Rental Rates: Self-driving rental rates are for 24 hours per day. Late returns may incur extra charges at daily rates. To extend your rental, please notify us at least 24 hours before the expiry date and time via phone, WhatsApp, or email. Failure to inform us within 48 hours after the expiry date and time may result in a report to the authorities. All consequences are the renter’s responsibility.
• Car Availability: We may offer a similar model or an upgrade if your chosen car is unavailable.
• Contract Agreement: The renter must sign the Contract Agreement before using the rental car.
• Road Usage: The renter is responsible for any damage or loss if the car is driven on unsuitable surfaces (e.g., beaches, off-road). Such activities are illegal in Indonesia and subject to penalties.
• Authorized Drivers: Only the renter named in the contract agreement is permitted to drive the car. The renter is responsible for any consequences of allowing another person to drive.
• Travel Restrictions: Driving beyond Lombok Island requires approval from Lombok Car Hire.
• Payment: We accept IDR, USD, AUD, EUR, and GBP. Cash payments in SGD and MYR are also accepted. Debit/Credit cards (Visa and MasterCard) are processed in IDR. A one-day rental fee or USD 25 (whichever is greater) is required to confirm a booking. The remaining balance is payable upon car pick-up.
• Pricing: Prices are subject to change without notice. Confirmed booking prices are final.
• Cancellation: Down-payments are non-refundable. Cancelled bookings can be rescheduled or transferred to another person (subject to availability) within 30 days of cancellation. No refunds for ongoing rentals or early returns.
• Fuel: For self-drive rentals, fuel costs are the renter’s responsibility. Use Dexlite/Pertamina Dex for diesel engines and Pertamax for gasoline engines. Refuel only at authorized PERTAMINA/SPBU stations. Fuel is included for rentals with a driver. Cars are delivered with at least half a tank of fuel and should be returned with the same level.
• Tires: The renter may replace or repair punctured tires. Extreme tire wear or damage is not covered.
• Battery: Battery replacement due to negligence (leaving lights or ignition on) is the renter’s responsibility.
• Liability: Lombok Car Hire is not liable for issues beyond our control (e.g., acts of God, power failures, natural disasters, war, etc.) or for the renter’s illegal conduct.

Car Pick-Up/Delivery, Collection/Drop-Off, and Registration

• Service Area: Lombok International Airport, Mataram, Senggigi, Kuta Lombok, Gili Islands, and surrounding areas.
• Extra Charges:
  • Lombok International Airport FREE DELIVERY Pick-Up/Delivery & Collection/Drop-Off
  • Middle Lombok (Kuta, Praya and surrounding area): Rp 150,000
  • East Lombok (Selong and surrounding area): Rp 250,000
  • North Lombok (Tanjung and surrounding area): Rp 250,000
  • West Lombok (Sekotong and surrounding area): Rp 300,000
• Registration: Passport and Driving License are required. We will take scans/photos of these documents and a photo of the renter with the car.

Car Rental Insurance and Accident Procedures in Indonesia

• Foreign Drivers: In Indonesia, foreign drivers involved in accidents are often considered at fault, regardless of the actual circumstances.
• Insurance Coverage: Insurance covers up to $350-$450 (depending on the type of car) per occurrence, including third-party liability, with an own risk excess of Rp 800,000 (around USD 55).
• Accident Procedures: Report any incidents immediately to our staff.
• Negligence: If an accident results in an un-roadworthy car and the renter was negligent (e.g., driving under the influence, underage, without a valid license, or unauthorized driver), the contract is terminated without refund, and all costs are the renter’s responsibility.
• Vehicle Documents: Keep the ‘STNK’ (vehicle registration document) safe. Losing it will incur a Rp 200,000 replacement fee.
• Key Loss/Damage: Replacement fees apply for lost or damaged keys (IDR 700,000 for a standard key, IDR 1,500,000 for a key with remote, and IDR 2,100,000 for a keyless remote).
• Travel Issues: Lombok Car Hire is not liable for losses due to travel-related issues (e.g., flight cancellations/delays). We are also not responsible for lost belongings after the car is returned.
• Other Terms: Additional terms and conditions are in the rental car contract agreement.
• Modifications: We reserve the right to update these terms and conditions and website content without prior notice.
