Best Coworking Spaces in Lombok for Digital Nomads

Lombok is becoming a much more interesting destination for remote workers. You still get beaches, surf spots, tropical scenery, and a slower pace than Bali, but reliable internet and proper coworking spaces in Lombok are becoming easier to find.

If I were planning a workcation here, I would choose my base based on two things: how much serious work I need to do and what I want to do after closing my laptop.

Kuta Lombok currently has the strongest concentration of dedicated coworking options, while Senggigi, Mataram, and the Gili Islands also have useful places for remote work. Recent local guides also note improvements in Lombok’s remote-work infrastructure, including fibre connections, Starlink, and spaces built specifically for video calls and focused work.

Here are some of the coworking spaces I would consider.

1. The Spot Lombok

If you are staying around Kuta, The Spot Lombok is one of the first places I would check.

It combines a dedicated workspace with a café and restaurant, which makes it convenient when I want to stay productive without moving somewhere else for lunch or coffee. The working area has desks, power outlets, air conditioning, and a more relaxed atmosphere than a traditional office.

Current listings show regular opening hours from early morning until evening, while members can get extended access depending on their membership.

Good for:
Remote workers who want a proper desk, comfortable indoor workspace, food nearby, and easy access to Kuta.

2. KARIA Coworking

Another strong option in Kuta is KARIA Coworking.

I particularly like the concept here because it feels designed around actual remote-work needs rather than simply putting Wi-Fi inside a café. You can find shared desks, comfortable chairs, meeting areas, and private phone booths for online meetings.

A recent Kuta coworking guide also reports Starlink-powered internet, coffee and tea included with passes, and 24-hour access for memberships.

That combination can make a big difference if your job involves Zoom meetings with clients in Europe or the United States.

Good for:
Video calls, freelancers, developers, marketers, and anyone working across different time zones.

3. Padel Cafe Senggigi

You do not have to stay in South Lombok to find somewhere to work.

For travelers based on the west coast, Padel Cafe Senggigi offers another option. It sits along Jalan Raya Senggigi and currently operates from morning until late evening.

The location can be especially practical if your Lombok itinerary combines work with Senggigi, Batu Layar, or trips toward North Lombok.

I would consider this type of place for a lighter workday—answering emails, updating a website, writing content, or spending a few hours on my laptop before exploring the coast.

Good for:
Travelers staying around Senggigi who do not want to drive all the way to Kuta just to work.

4. LOCUS Coffee and Workspace in Mataram

Sometimes I do not need a full coworking membership. I just need good Wi-Fi, coffee, a table, and several uninterrupted hours.

That is where places such as LOCUS COFFEE AND WORKSPACE become useful.

Located in Mataram, it works well if you are staying in Lombok’s main urban area or need to spend a day in the city.

Mataram may not offer the same beach-and-surf lifestyle as Kuta, but it can make sense for longer stays when reliable city infrastructure matters more than waking up next to the ocean.

Good for:
Casual remote working, content writing, email, meetings, and travelers staying in Mataram.

5. Working on Air in Gili Air

Working remotely from a small tropical island sounds great until you urgently need stable Wi-Fi.

Fortunately, Working on Air gives digital nomads on Gili Air a dedicated place to work.

This makes Gili Air particularly interesting if you want to divide your time between focused work and island life. You can work during the day, then spend the afternoon snorkeling, cycling around the island, or watching the sunset.

Just remember that reaching the Gilis involves a boat transfer, so I would not choose them if I needed to travel around mainland Lombok every day.

Good for:
Digital nomads who want an island lifestyle without completely disconnecting from work.

6. Tropica Coworking on Gili Trawangan

Gili Trawangan also has its own remote-work options.

Tropica co – working space provides a dedicated coworking setup on Gili T, making it possible to stay on the island longer without relying entirely on hotel or café Wi-Fi.

For me, this type of setup makes more sense for people staying several days or weeks rather than visitors making a short day trip.

Good for:
Longer Gili Trawangan stays, freelancers, and digital nomads mixing work with diving and island activities.

Which Area in Lombok Is Best for Digital Nomads?

For most digital nomads, I would start with Kuta Lombok.

It has the strongest combination of coworking spaces, cafés, restaurants, accommodation, beaches, gyms, surf spots, and an international remote-work community. Local guides also describe Kuta as Lombok’s main digital-nomad hub, with several dedicated coworking spaces now offering professional internet infrastructure.

Senggigi is worth considering if you prefer the west coast and easier access toward the Gilis. Mataram works better if your priority is city infrastructure rather than beach life.

And if you want the full tropical-island experience, Gili Air or Gili Trawangan can work surprisingly well—as long as you do not need to commute regularly around mainland Lombok.

What Should You Look for in a Coworking Space in Lombok?

I would never choose a coworking space based on Wi-Fi speed alone.

Before buying a weekly or monthly pass, I would check:

  • Internet stability and backup connection
  • Air conditioning
  • Power outlets near the desk
  • Comfortable chairs for long sessions
  • Quiet areas or phone booths for calls
  • Opening hours and 24/7 member access
  • Food and coffee availability
  • Distance from your accommodation
  • Backup power during outages

If your work depends heavily on video meetings or uploading large files, I would also test the connection personally before committing to a long membership.

Prices, internet speeds, and access policies can change, so it is worth confirming the latest information directly with each coworking space.

Getting Around Lombok as a Digital Nomad

One thing that becomes obvious after staying in Lombok for a while is how spread out everything is.

You might work from Kuta today, visit Selong Belanak after finishing your tasks, spend another day exploring Mandalika, and then drive north toward Senggigi or Bangsal.

That flexibility is one reason having your own transportation can be useful.

If you prefer traveling independently, Rental Car Lombok by Vibes Lombok can help you arrange a car for short trips or longer stays. Renting a car makes it easier to move between accommodation, coworking spaces, cafés, beaches, and other parts of Lombok without building your entire schedule around transportation.

For digital nomads carrying a laptop, camera equipment, or other work gear, I also find a car more comfortable than constantly moving everything on a scooter.

Final Thoughts

The selection of coworking spaces in Lombok is still smaller than what you will find in Bali, but that is not necessarily a disadvantage.

Kuta already offers several dedicated spaces for serious remote work, while Mataram, Senggigi, Gili Air, and Gili Trawangan give you alternatives depending on how you want to live and travel.

For me, that is Lombok’s biggest appeal as a digital nomad destination. I can spend a productive morning behind a laptop, close it in the afternoon, and still have beaches, surf breaks, coastal roads, and small villages waiting just a short drive away.
